The Global Paramedic Higher Education Council (GPHEC) is an autonomous accrediting agency, contributing to the improvement of community health. GPHEC ensures the quality and integrity of the associate, baccalaureate, masters, and other post-graduate programs in Paramedicine, Community Paramedicine, and Critical Care Transport.
GPHEC serves the public interest by assessing and identifying programs that engage in effective educational practices. As a voluntary, self-regulatory process, GPHEC accreditation supports and encourages continuing self-assessment by Paramedicine programs and supports continuing growth and improvement of collegiate professional education programs.
We are committed to serving developing countries and improving life for the poorest and most vulnerable. Accreditated higher education offers instrumental benefits for both the individual and the entire educational system, by reducing poverty and improving health, gender equality, peace, and stability. GPHEC accreditation is vital for producing the caliber and diversity of Paramedicine graduates needed for both the economy today and tomorrow, to which a nation aspires, offering limitless avenues for social mobility and economic development.
Enormous advances in education have been made, however, most middle- and lower-income countries are struggling. Financing and governance of quality assurance are the central steering elements for sustainability of accredited higher education, imperative for expanding wealth inequality among nations. In the interest of continuous development and support of accredited global education, GPHEC offers a welcoming fee schedule, in accordance with wealth classification sectors, as defined by the World Bank.
